    Chairman

    Following a short spell at the Lilleshall Company, John joined his father and grandfather in the family business in 1956 and soon realised his interest lay firmly in the funeral industry. By 1967 he had started to offer the local community a complete funeral service and had begun the much needed modernisation of the business.

     

    After more than half a century of service to the local community, John continues to have an active role in all areas of the business.

  • Symon Tranter Dip FD. Dip FSM. MBIE. LMBIFD

    Managing Director

    Symon joined L Tranter & Son on a full-time basis in 1988 and soon began studying for his Diploma in Funeral Directing, qualifying in 1991.  Taking over the day to day running of the business in 1995 he further continued his professional development by becoming a full member of the British Institute of Embalmers in 2003 and gaining his Diploma in Funeral Service Management in 2006 thus becoming the only funeral director in Shropshire to hold all three recognised industry qualifications.

     

    Having introduced Pre-Paid Funeral Planning to the company in the early 1990s Symon has since twice been named Regional Funeral Planner of the year.

  • Diane Tudor Dip FD

    Office Manager & Funeral Director

    Diane joined L Tranter & Son as Office Manager in 2002 after working in admin and HR within the retail industry for over 20 years. In 2006 she qualified as a funeral director by passing her Foundation Certificate and Diploma in Funeral Directing.
